2. Intellectual Property

2.1 The site and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Sparklean Ovens. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Permission is granted to electronically copy and print in hard copy portions of this website for the sole purpose of using our Services. Any other use of materials on this website – including reproduction for purposes other than those noted above, modification, distribution, or republication – without the prior written permission of Sparklean Ovens is strictly prohibited.

3. Changes to our Terms and Conditions

3.1 We reserve the right to make any changes to any part of these Terms and Conditions without giving any prior notice. Your continued use of the site will signify your acceptance of any adjustment to these terms. We recommend that you check this page regularly to keep up-to-date.

4. Equipment

4.1 We shall provide all cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment necessary to carry out the service;

4.2 The Customer must provide running hot water, electricity/gas, sufficient light and (where applicable) access to keys and security/alarm codes in order for our technician to enter the premises where the service is to take place;

4.3 All appliances must be fully functional at time of appointment; our Service requires the heating of certain appliances, for example ovens; if we are unable to do this we may not be able to carry out our Service(s).

5. Quotations

5.1 All quotations are given by the Business following a request from the Customer and shall remain open to acceptance for a period of 7 days;

5.2 Quotations shall be valid only if the Customer has provided the Business with accurate details as to the type, size and condition of the item(s) to be cleaned;

5.3 For oven types such as agas, ranges and professional range cookers, the initial quotation shall only be used as an indication of the cost, with the final price to be confirmed on arrival depending on the size and condition of such appliances. In order to receive a final quotation at the time of booking, we would request that you send us a picture of the appliance(s) type and condition;

5.4 Should the Client’s original requirements change/deviate from what was originally quoted either by phone or in writing or incorrect information be supplied by the Customer at time of booking, we reserve the right to amend the initial quotation. Our technician shall have the right to charge for additional works while on site.

6. Payments

6.1 Payment is due in full upon completion of our Services and can be made by cash or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Paul Shave t/a Sparklean Ovens.’ The Customer will be responsible for all bank and legal charges resulting from returned cheque(s). If bank transfer is agreed, the transfer should be made prior to our technician leaving your property.

7. Cancellation

7.1 Should you need to re-schedule or cancel your appointment, you must give us at least 48 hours’ notice prior to the agreed time and date of your oven clean. Failure to do so will result in a £40 cancellation charge;

7.2 In the circumstances in which the scheduled cleaning session cannot take place upon the arrival of our technician (not at home at time of appointment, appliance faulty, lack of appropriate resources, such as hot water, electricity and lighting etc.), we reserve the right to charge 50% of the agreed cost. We will of course attempt to contact you on the telephone number(s) provided but if we are still unable to gain access to the property after 15 minutes or the working conditions are deemed to be unsuitable for the job, we may need to enforce this clause;

7.3 Please note that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times in order to avoid missed appointments and cancellation fees. You are very welcome to call/email to double check any appointments if you are unsure.

8. Parking

8.1 Parking for the company vehicle must be provided at the Client’s premises or as close as is reasonably possible, to allow easy and safe access for our technician. Part of the clean is carried out in the van, therefore suitable parking is essential.

9. Liability and Insurance

9.1 Upon arrival, our technician will first need to inspect your appliance for any obvious issues which will be highlighted to you. This is to determine any pre-existing damage to the appliance or areas that may need further inspection by a trained repair engineer. Sparklean Ovens reserves the right to decide, in its sole discretion, upon the suitability of the appliance and will not be obliged to provide the Service(s) if the appliance is not safe or suitable. No liability shall be accepted for costs or inconveniences incurred by the Customer as a result;

9.2 The condition of your appliance may make identification of damage to enamel difficult prior to our Service. Should we uncover any damaged areas of enamel during our process we will highlight this to you. We cannot be held responsible for any pre-existing damage to your appliance, whether seen prior to our service or uncovered through the removal of debris and carbon;

9.3 Children and pets should be kept out of the working area as we use hand tools that may cause harm. We cannot be held responsible for any injury (or loss!) suffered to pets and children as a result of an accident during the delivery of cleaning services;

9.4 If, for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather or illness, Sparklean Ovens is unable to carry out the Service(s) at the time, date or location agreed, Sparklean Ovens will not accept any liability for costs or inconvenience incurred by the Customer as a result. An offer to provide the Service(s) at the cost agreed at an alternative time and date convenient to both parties will be made;

9.5 Sparklean Ovens have a Public Liability Insurance policy in place and covers any accidental damage caused by the technician. You may of course request details of this policy at any time.

10. Claims

10.1 Once the Service has been completed our technician will demonstrate the appliance in full working order and ask you to inspect their work. The Customer agrees to inspect the work immediately after its completion and to draw the technician’s attention to any outstanding cleaning issues while they are still on site. The technician will carry out any such additional work to the Customer’s complete satisfaction, prior to obtaining signature;

10.2 If you are happy with the Service, we would ask you to sign and print your receipt to confirm that you are fully satisfied with the service as carried out;

10.3 If the Customer or any third party instructed by the Customer is not present at the time of the service then no claims regarding any cleaning issues can be made.;

10.4 The Customer agrees that final inspection and signature waivers any obligation of Sparklean Ovens. No claims after this point shall be valid other than those at our discretion;

10.5 The Customer accepts and understands that any issues with cleaning standards and/or breakage/damage must be reported within 24 hours from the service date. We will always arrange repair or replacement of parts damaged through technician accident/negligence;

10.6 The Customer will allow us to revisit any job(s) with which they are not satisfied to ensure that we are able to rectify any issues.

11. Useful to know

11.1 Start times for cleaning sessions are as per the below:

  • morning session: 8am

  • mid-morning / midday session: 10am - 12pm

  • afternoon session: 12pm - 3pm.

This structure is in place in order to cater for various types of clean and duration. Our technician will endeavour to keep the Client informed of late or early visits at all times;

11.2 Sparklean Ovens do not guarantee oven cleaning results and the results cannot be predicted as they are dependent on the type of oven, its age, length of time since it was last cleaned, how often it is used and the type of food being cooked in the oven. Some items can also be very difficult to remove from the appliance in order to achieve our very high standards of cleanliness (for example, we cannot clean elements or above these);

11.3 We usually take photographs of the appliance, both prior to and after cleaning which will be used as examples of our work via social media or as part of our marketing materials. These photos will remain the property of Sparklean Ovens but if you do not wish for them to be publicised, please do let us know.

12. Feedback

12.1 Any feedback given by the Customer can be used to promote our Services on our website or via other marketing activities. This may include the Customer name and area in which they live alongside a quotation.

13. Law

13.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
